Since its inception, Cryo-Cell has been widely recognized as a leading force in the cord blood banking industry. We seize every opportunity to improve the value of products and services offered to our customers by making continuous investments in the areas of collection, processing, and storage. Additionally, all families who store their cord blood at any bank will benefit from access to investigational therapies through the arrival of a new infusion clinic, expected to open in 2024:
The Cryo-Cell Difference

Protects up to 30 times longer than kits from other private banks and contains an FDA-approved sterile collection bag.
Provides expectant parents with multiple treatment opportunities with its five independently sealed compartments.
Has been shown to lead to better therapeutic outcomes when stem cells are processed in FACT-accredited labs.
Many lives have been saved worldwide from Cryo-Cell's public banking program offered through prestigious U.S. hospitals.
New Treatment Possibilities: Innovative and quality care
An exclusive license agreement with Duke University is projected to advance the work of Dr. Joanne Kurtzberg and her colleagues to bring novel cord blood and cord tissue-based cellular therapies to the clinic. Cryo-Cell plans to offer treatments under an FDA-approved IND to treat patients with autism, cerebral palsy, and other brain injuries. Our vision is to move from Phase III clinical trials and Expanded Access to licensed biological products that will deliver approved therapies for a wide range of conditions.

PrepaCyte-CB superior processing: Get better quicker during the vital stage of recovery
We were the first major bank to adopt an advanced processing technology that has been shown to engraft 20% faster than any other processing method. PrepaCyte-CB yields the maximum recovery of stem cells and provides the highest red blood cell depletion over all other methods.
Advanced collection kit: Don't lose your stem cells before they even make it to the bank
Cryo-Cell's cord blood collection kit
The loss of stem cell viability because of extreme temperatures experienced during transportation is a problem that all cord blood banks should take seriously. Unfortunately, most cord blood banks rely on the speed of the courier service in hope that it will be delivered quickly and the functionality and usefulness of the cord blood and cord tissue collection will not be affected. Properly safeguarding a collection requires a kit with excellent insulating properties.
Our collection–transportation kit provides 30 times more protection than other kits currently used in the private cord blood–banking industry.

Forward-looking collection and storage bags: Give your baby access to future progress
Many parents want their baby's cord blood to be available in multiple doses, giving them more options in its use in treatments and giving accessibility, if needed, for its use in other family members. Our forward-looking, five-compartment cord blood storage bag provides parents with better flexibility for how and when they use their baby’s cord blood. It also works in conjunction with other proprietary changes that have increased stem cell viability during processing by 10 percent.

Stringent accreditations: Help ensure the best treatment outcomes
We have a state-of-the-art laboratory, which has received the most accreditations of any cord blood bank and was the first private cord blood bank in the U.S. to meet the stringent standards set forth by the Foundation for the Accreditation for Cellular Therapy (FACT).
- According to a study done at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, stem cell units from a FACT-accredited lab produce better treatment outcomes for patients.1
- The 10 top cancer centers in the U.S. are all FACT-accredited.2

Public Banking: Bringing availability to families in need
In 2018, Cryo-Cell entered the public cord blood banking sector in partnership with Duke University Medical Center. Cryo-Cell's public bank has been chosen by the HRSA of the U.S. Department of Health, along with other leading banks such as those operated by M.D. Anderson and Duke University, as one of the nation's highest quality cord blood banks to help build the National Cord Blood Inventory. Cryo-Cell operates cord blood donation sites in several prominent hospitals across the U.S.

Not All Cord Blood Banks Are Created Equal
In addition to the above differentiators, Cryo-Cell offers families affordable financing plans to suit almost every budget. We require no fee at enrollment, which means you don't pay until after your baby is delivered and your baby's cord blood and cord tissue have been processed and stored.
